Thea answers only from the sources you connect. Mix types to match how your docs actually live. Open Knowledge in the server sidebar. This is not under Settings.

Source types

Single page

Index one URL. Thea follows links from that page up to your plan’s crawl depth.

Entire site

Point at an XML sitemap. On re-sync, only changed pages are fetched.

Status page

A status page that re-syncs on a schedule. Pair it with Settings → General → Status page alerts to post when an incident opens or resolves.

Upload file

PDF, Markdown, or plain text. Size limits: 2 MB (Free), 20 MB (Pro), 50 MB (Business).

FAQ

Structured question-and-answer pairs. They get a retrieval boost because they look like how members ask.

Notion

Sync pages and databases. Pro and Business. Counts as one source for the whole connection.

Zendesk

Published help-center articles. Pro and Business.

Discord thread

Index a resolved thread so Thea can reuse an answer your team already wrote.

Help center articles

Published articles from your Thea help center are indexed automatically.

Content API

Pages you push with an API key. Pro and Business. See Content API.

Crawl depth

When you add a page or site, Thea follows links up to:

Add a source

1

Open Knowledge

In the server dashboard, click Knowledge.
2

Click Add source

Choose the type.
3

Connect it

Paste a URL, upload a file, or complete Notion / Zendesk OAuth.
4

Wait for Ready

Status moves through Queued, Building, Ready, or Error. Stale means a scheduled sync failed or the source changed out from under the index.
Paused sources keep serving whatever was last indexed. The dashboard warns collaborators so you do not forget a freeze.

Sync

Trigger Sync now on a source at any time. Status-page alerts fire on that same cadence — see Settings → General.
Document and passage limits apply across all sources combined. New content stops indexing when you hit the cap.

Knowledge gaps

On paid plans, Thea clusters questions it could not answer. Open the gaps from Knowledge, then draft a FAQ, add a source, or dismiss the cluster. After you add or update a source, ask the same questions in the Playground and confirm the new passages show up before members rely on them.
